Starstruck!

Oh, yes, it happens to me too, ol' Angeleno that I am. Not often, mind you. Not often at all. It's just not cool to get all fawny over famous people, not to mention probably annoying for them.

Well.

Thanks to Deirdre, my favorite show is Bones. It's really sad, I'm a total Bones junkie. I Tivo every episode, even reruns that I've seen before. Today I was in my yoga class, and towards the end I realized one of the cast members was in the class too. Afterwards I couldn't resist and I went up to her and gushed about how much I love the show and how I Tivo all the episodes. What a dork! She was very sweet and seemed happy to receive the compliment. Hopefully I haven't put her off yoga. I doubt it, I really wasn't too crazy, just very enthusiastic.

Sigh...

Do the kids know about The Breakfast Club?

I just saw an ad for JC Penney, a department store, that was a re-enactment of some scenes from the classic John Hughes film, The Breakfast Club. The theme song for this film, Don't You (Forget About Me), by Simple Minds, still plays on the radio on a regular basis.

Does this movie still speak to teens the way it spoke to us, 22 years ago? I guess it must, otherwise they wouldn't have used it for a going-back-to-school ad. It's cool to be able to say that we were actually in high school when the movie came out.

The '80's were awesome.
